Leadership Tools Showcase: Humble Inquiry
Humble Inquiry: The Leadership Skill of Asking to Understand
Discover the transformative power of Humble Inquiry—an approach that fosters genuine curiosity, builds trust, and uncovers critical insights without intimidation. Based on Edgar Schein’s groundbreaking work, this showcase is designed to help participants solve complex challenges by developing meaningful relationships.
In this session you will practice scenario-based interactions and develop questions that encourage dialogue and drive insights. Best of all, you will come away with a new tool to add to your professional repository that supports you in applying humble inquiry in everyday challenges. This session is perfect for those in leadership, management, and consulting/partnering roles.
The session will be led by Dr. Denise Cumberland, Associate Professor in Human Resources and Organization Development at UofL. She is joined by Dr. Devon Twyford, Strategic Director of People and Organization Development at the American Cancer Society. Don’t miss this opportunity to enhance your leadership style and uncover solutions by listening instead of telling.
