About the Center
The Center For Positive Leadership was founded in October 2018 with generous donations from the University of Louisville Athletic Department, Vince Tyra, and the Rechter Foundation.
Early efforts in the center focused on supporting research on positive leadership, developing leadership tools, and helping to create change in the athletic department. As the Project grew, we recruited our affiliated professionals and our board of advisors. We continued to develop tools and research and added our conversation series and leadership tools showcases. Since becoming a University Center in April 2023, we updated our strategy to include two new initiatives: Local WorldChangers, cross-functional teams of people who share a common commitment to work together to improve their organizations, and Elevator, an 8-month, 18-credit hour, experiential learning class for students in which they learn to lead an ambitious change in organizations or communities, with education and support from the university.
Our Mission
